Privacy Policy for Tidy

Last updated: 4 Nov 2026

Tidy ("the app") is an Android app, developed by Nuko ("we", "our"), that organizes the files on your phone automatically by rules you set. This page explains what data the app handles — and what it does not collect.

Short version

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data through Tidy. Moving and copying files and renaming folders all happen on your device — your files and file names are never uploaded to any server. However, the Free version shows ads through Google AdMob, and Google (as the ad provider) may obtain your advertising ID, IP address, and device information to deliver ads, prevent fraud, and measure performance. The Pro version shows no ads and makes no such connections. We do not use any analytics tools.

What the app does with your files

For the folders in the rules you create (sources, destinations, and folders to roll over), Tidy reads the names, sizes, and modification dates of the files in them, moves or copies the files that match the rule, and renames folders. It does not read the contents of files except to copy them. It never acts on files in folders that are not part of a rule.

Your rules, and the run history used by the "Undo" feature (which files were moved from where to where), are stored only in the app's private storage on your device. You can clear the history from within the app at any time, and everything is deleted when you uninstall the app. They are not sent off the device by Android's backup either (backup is disabled for the app).

All files access

Tidy asks for Android's "All files access" (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) permission. Android requires it for moving files automatically between folders other apps save to (each app's picture folder, Download, DCIM/Camera, and so on) and for renaming those folders. The permission is used only for the rules you create, as described above, and never to send files off the device. You can revoke it at any time in Android's settings.

Advertising

The Free version shows a small Google AdMob banner at the bottom of the screen. Ads are served by the Google Mobile Ads SDK, and Google may obtain your Advertising ID, IP address, and device and app information to deliver ads, prevent fraud, and measure performance. This information is handled by Google and is not sent to us. For details, see Google's policies.

In the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, and other regions where it is required, a consent form from Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) is shown so you can choose your ad preferences. You can change your choice at any time from "Ad privacy options" in the app's menu. You can also reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalization in your Android settings.

Buying the Pro version removes all ads. The app is not directed at children under 13, and ads are not configured as child-directed.

Permissions

The main permissions Tidy declares are listed below. It does not request location, contacts, camera, or microphone permissions.

Data collection and analytics

We do not collect:

Note that, as described under "Advertising" above, in the Free version Google may obtain information in order to serve ads. This is not collection by us.

Third-party services

The third-party services Tidy integrates are Google AdMob (the Google Mobile Ads SDK and User Messaging Platform) for ads, and Google's Play Billing Library for in-app purchases. It does not include any analytics platform or cloud storage service. For how Google handles information, see Google's Privacy Policy.

Children's privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly.
