Privacy Policy for NukoRename

Last updated: 29 Sep 2026

NukoRename ("the app") is a batch file renaming app for Android, developed by Nuko ("we", "our"). This page explains what data the app does — and does not — collect.

Short version

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data through NukoRename. Renaming happens entirely on your device — your file names and file contents are never uploaded to any server. However, the Free version shows ads through Google AdMob, and Google (as the ad provider) may obtain your advertising ID, IP address, and device information to deliver ads, prevent fraud, and measure performance. The Pro version shows no ads and makes no such connections. We do not use any analytics tools.

What the app does with your files

NukoRename reads and changes file names only when you explicitly ask it to, through Android's built-in file and folder pickers (the Storage Access Framework). The app does not read the contents of your files, and it does not scan, index, or access any files you have not directly chosen through those pickers.

If you pick photos, videos, or audio files from Android's media-based views (such as "Images" or "Videos"), Android may ask you to confirm a one-time permission in a system dialog before the names can be changed. This permission is managed by Android itself and no information is sent to us.

The previous file names kept for the "Undo" feature are held only in your device's memory while the app is open; they are not saved to storage or sent to any server.

Advertising

The Free version shows a small Google AdMob banner at the top of the screen. Ads are served by the Google Mobile Ads SDK, and Google may obtain your Advertising ID, IP address, and device and app information to deliver ads, prevent fraud, and measure performance. This information is handled by Google and is not sent to us. For details, see Google's policies.

In the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, and other regions where it is required, a consent form from Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) is shown so you can choose your ad preferences. You can change your choice at any time from the app's Settings. You can also reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalization in your Android settings.

Buying the Pro version removes all ads. The app is not directed at children under 13, and ads are not configured as child-directed.

Permissions

NukoRename does not request any Android runtime permissions related to your files or personal data, such as broad storage access, location, contacts, camera, or microphone. Access to files is limited to the ones you choose in Android's standard pickers, as described above. The main permissions the app declares are:

Data collection and analytics

We do not collect:

Note that, as described under "Advertising" above, in the Free version Google may obtain information in order to serve ads. This is not collection by us.

Standard Android system logs generated during a crash stay on your device and are only visible to you (or to us if you voluntarily choose to send them to us, e.g. by email, when reporting a bug).

Third-party services

The third-party services NukoRename integrates are Google AdMob (the Google Mobile Ads SDK and User Messaging Platform) for ads, and Google's Play Billing Library for in-app purchases. It does not include any analytics platform or cloud storage service. For how Google handles information, see Google's Privacy Policy.

Children's privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly.
