NukoExif ("the app") is a photo metadata (EXIF) viewer and remover for Android, developed by Nuko ("we", "our"). This page explains what data the app does — and does not — collect.
NukoExif does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Reading and removing a photo's location (GPS), date/time, camera details and other metadata happens entirely on your device — your photos and their metadata are never uploaded to any server. The app contains no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking SDKs.
NukoExif reads photos only when you explicitly ask it to, through Android's built-in photo picker and folder picker (the Storage Access Framework). A selected photo is copied to the app's private temporary storage on your device, and the metadata is removed from that copy — your original photo is never modified. The processed copy is saved to your device's gallery (Pictures/NukoExif) or handed to the app you choose only when you tap "Save to gallery" or "Share". The app does not scan, index, or access any photos you have not directly chosen through those pickers, and it never uploads any photo or file anywhere.
The app does not request location permission and never accesses your device's current location. The location shown on screen is only the GPS metadata already recorded inside the photo you selected. Only if you tap "Open in Maps" are those coordinates handed to the map app on your device.
NukoExif declares the following permissions, for the purposes below:
INTERNET / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE /
com.android.vending.BILLING: the app includes Google's Play Billing
Library, and these permissions are used only by that library to communicate with
Google Play for an optional future in-app purchase (a Pro upgrade). They are never
used to send your photos or metadata anywhere. The purchase flow itself is handled
entirely by Google Play, and payment details never reach us.
We do not collect:
Removal presets you save in the app (your choice of which categories to remove) are stored only in the app's private storage on your device and are never sent anywhere. Standard Android system logs generated during a crash stay on your device and are only visible to you (or to us if you voluntarily choose to send them to us, e.g. by email, when reporting a bug).
The only third-party service NukoExif integrates is Google's Play Billing Library, used for in-app purchases. It does not include any analytics platform, ad network, or cloud storage service. For how Google Play handles information during a purchase, see Google's Privacy Policy.
Because the app collects no data from anyone, it does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 (or the relevant age in your country).
If this policy ever changes, this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly.
