Nukoket ("the app") is an Android app for selling and shopping at doujin events, developed by Nuko ("we", "our"). This page explains what data the app handles and what it does not collect.
Everything you enter in the app — events, products, sales, change float, checklists, circles, wish lists, budgets, pictures and venue maps — is stored only on your device and is never sent to our servers or any cloud. We require no account and run no analytics. To keep the app free, some screens show Google AdMob ads, and Google handles information such as the advertising ID to serve them (details below).
The app's data is stored only in its private storage on your device, which other apps cannot access. Pictures you choose — product pictures, circle menus, venue maps — are copied into that private storage when you pick them with the photo picker. The app never scans your photo library or accesses pictures you have not chosen. Uninstalling the app deletes this data from your device.
Backup files (.nkkt) and sales CSV files are created only when you choose to export them, and are saved only to the location you pick in Android's file dialog. If you choose a cloud storage location, that service's terms apply to the file. These files never reach us.
When you share a post, link or picture to the app from another app, it reads only the text and pictures you shared and saves them on your device as a circle or wish-list item. The app never signs in to your social media accounts or fetches anything beyond what you shared.
The "Read automatically" feature for venue maps uses Google's ML Kit text recognition. Recognition runs entirely on your device and the map picture is never uploaded. The recognition model is downloaded to your device through Google Play services.
The app shows a small Google AdMob banner on the event list, the sales summary and the shopping budget screens. No ads are shown on the selling, register or event-day checklist screens. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect and use the advertising ID, IP address, information about your device and the app, and ad views and taps. The data you enter in the app (products, sales, shopping lists, etc.) is never sent for advertising.
In regions where consent is required, such as the EEA and the UK, Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) asks for your consent before ads are shown. Where applicable, you can change your choice at any time from "Ad privacy settings" in the event list menu. You can also limit personalized ads by deleting or resetting your advertising ID in Android's settings. All features of the app are free. Optional tips are processed through Google Play in-app purchases (the Play Billing Library), and Google Play handles the whole payment. Payment details never reach us. Tipping does not change features or ads.
The app uses the following permissions, for the purposes below. It does not request access to your camera, location, contacts or all files.
INTERNET / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: used to show ads, process
tips and obtain the text recognition model. Never used to send the data you enter.
com.android.vending.BILLING: used for tips through Google Play in-app purchases.
AD_ID / ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID /
ACCESS_ADSERVICES_ATTRIBUTION / ACCESS_ADSERVICES_TOPICS:
used by the Google Mobile Ads SDK to serve and measure ads.
WAKE_LOCK / FOREGROUND_SERVICE: included for Android's
standard background task library (WorkManager), used internally by libraries such as
the ads SDK. The app runs no background service of its own.
If you choose to email us, for example to report a bug, we use what you send only to respond to you.
The app is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.
